From the Principal
Hi everyone,
Another busy two weeks have flown by here at OGPS!
Our new fences and gates are now operational which is very exciting - we hope to have some of these new gates automated in the coming weeks which will allow easier access points throughout the day. In the meantime we would appreciate use of the green and yellow gates during the school day if you are picking up or dropping off in between the first and last bells.
Thank you to Mr Liston for organising a fantastic cross country event and to the parents who volunteered their time to supervise the course. We look forward to sending representatives to the district cross country event on the 20th of May.
Also a shout out to Miss Tulin who has organised our Harmony Week this week, we have had many activities and are looking forward to our dress up day tomorrow.
We are also very proud to have achieved our Silver Medal in our SWPBS program. This is the third year in a row we have levelled up in the program, with a special thank you going to Mrs Crozier and Mrs Kennedy for tracking our progress to apply for the awards. Obviously, we could not have achieved this award without the amazing work of our teachers and ES staff and all of our students for doing their very best each and every day.
We look forward to going for the gold award as soon as we are eligible.
Next week, sixteen of our Year 6 students will participate in the first of many planned sessions with Foundation students from Aurora School. This exciting initiative is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen and celebrate the connections within our wider school community. Throughout the year, our Year 6 students will visit Aurora, and the Foundation students from Aurora will also spend time with us here at Orchard Grove. We look forward to the valuable relationships, shared learning experiences, and sense of community this program will continue to foster.
Finally, Mrs Kennedy and I took our school leaders to the Dream and Lead conference yesterday at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. They were able to listen to speakers talking about their leadership journey, alongside learning some leadership techniques from the presenters. It is always a pleasure to take our students to events, where their behaviour and attitudes are exemplary and showcase how amazing OGPS students are.
Just a reminder that school photos are next Monday!
