Dear parents and carers,
With an extra day added to the weekend, I hope you were able to take the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather and spend time doing the things your family enjoys. Our students have been making the most of the shorter week with the school in full swing. It’s lovely to have our lunchtime enrichment clubs in operation; please see later in the newsletter for the full schedule.

NAPLAN
The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is underway for 2026, and our Year Three and Five students have completed the Writing assessment over the last two days. Our students approached the first assessment with a sense of calmness and an eagerness to show off all they have learned. The NAPLAN assessments are a great opportunity to gain a snapshot of how our school is improving across the curriculum and to identify areas to continue to refine. We appreciate our students' efforts on these assessments and are grateful to our staff and school community for supporting them throughout this week and next.
Year Six Leadership Assembly
Next Friday, 20th March, we will hold our Year Six Leadership Assembly, where each of our Year Six student leaders will be presented with their leadership badge. We are fortunate to have our local state member, Tim Richardson, and our local federal member, Mark Dreyfus KC, in attendance to present our student leaders with their badges. The assembly will begin at 2:40
Harmony Week
Next week is Harmony Week. Our student leaders have prepared a series of videos to share with our community to build an understanding of the cultural diversity within our school and the wider community. We will have a special picnic on Wednesday, 18th March in the courtyard. There is more information later in the newsletter.

House Athletics Helpers
Our House Athletics carnival is on Monday, 30th March. We are still on the lookout for helpers throughout the day. If you are able to assist, please let the office or Katie Scott know.
School Tours
It is a privilege to share our school community with prospective families on our school tours. If you know a family who may be interested in joining our community, they can book a tour via this link or by calling the school office on 9580 3255.

Division Swimming
Congratulations to Sadie Nevans, Alex Morgan, Charlie Baker, Sean Butler, and Archie Gray for representing our school and district at the Division Swimming Championships on Tuesday. Please read further in the newsletter for more information about our District Swimming team.

Curriculum Day
Friday’s curriculum day was a success. Our staff revisited the "Science of Learning" and applied these insights to our instructional model. Throughout the day, our Education Support Staff also completed their First Aid training. Thanks to Melissa Jacobs, Lisa Phillips, and Matt Bird for their organisation of our professional learning.

A reminder that Foundation to Year Two swimming commences next week. Thanks in advance for the team effort from parents, carers, students, and staff to coordinate towels, goggles, caps and bathers throughout the week.
Enjoy the next couple of days,
Tom
