Good Afternoon Parents Students, Staff and Friends of Derinya,  

As we reach the end of another wonderful term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on all that has been achieved and to thank our students, staff and families for their contributions to our vibrant school community. Throughout the term, our students have embraced opportunities to learn, grow and challenge themselves, demonstrating resilience, kindness and a commitment to doing their best. It is always a privilege to witness their achievements, both in the classroom and beyond. I hope all families enjoy a well-deserved break and find time to rest, recharge and spend time together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term of learning and growth. 

Celebrating Matilda's International Cheerleading Success 

We are incredibly proud of Matilda M and her outstanding achievements at a recent cheerleading competition in the United States. To compete on an international stage is a remarkable accomplishment and reflects countless hours of dedication, perseverance and teamwork. Matilda represented her team with enthusiasm and professionalism, and her success is an inspiration to us all. We congratulate her on this wonderful achievement and look forward to hearing more about her experiences. 

Olan Selected for School Sport Victoria Soccer Team 

Congratulations to Olan on his selection in the School Sport Victoria Soccer Team. Being chosen to represent Victoria at the School Sport Australia Championships is an exceptional achievement and a testament to Olan's talent, commitment and hard work. We are delighted to see his efforts recognised at such a high level and know he will represent both our school and our state with pride. We wish Olan every success as he prepares for this exciting opportunity. 

Derinya Art and Craft Exhibition 

We are also looking forward to our upcoming Derinya Art and Craft Exhibition, one of the highlights of our school calendar. This special event provides an opportunity to celebrate the creativity, imagination and artistic talents of local artists and artisans. The exhibition will showcase a diverse range of artwork, craft pieces and jewellery with suitability for all budgets.  We warmly invite families and friends to join us at either the gala evening on Friday 17th July or across the weekend.  

As another term draws to a close, I am reminded of how fortunate we are to be part of such a supportive and caring community. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and commitment to our school. Together, we continue to create opportunities for our children to learn, achieve and grow. I wish all families a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday break and look forward to seeing everyone next term. 

Student Voice Team 

I would like to thank all families and friends for their generous donations and support for our care packs for people suffering from homelessness. A shout out to Josh Bacon (prior student) for his efforts in bringing this together and to the SVT for their work around this also.
