Principal's News
Student images
At Holy Rosary the safety, wellbeing and privacy of our students remain our highest priority. As technology continues to evolve, particularly with the rapid rise of generative AI, deepfakes and the increasing risk of images being copied, manipulated or used without permission, we are reviewing the way we share share student photos across our public social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
Moving forward, you will notice some changes to the types of images we share publicly. We will be shifting toward wide angle group photos, contextual shots of events or landmarks, and fewer close up photos of students. For example, rather than close up photos of children during Mass we may share a view of the church interior, adults gathered, or students from behind. These proactive adjustments allow us to continue celebrating school life while taking meaningful steps to protect our children in an increasingly digital world. It is also fitting to remind families that you should not be taking photos of other children with out their parental permission. Thank you for your ongoing support as we prioritse the safety and privacy of our children.
Building Update
It's Saturday and our builders are hard at work trying to keep to scheule for our works at the front of the building. The historic roof is finished now and in the next week the gutters at the front of the hall will be replaced. Fences can then be removed to return the playground in front of the hall. The plan remains to have the works at the front of the building completed by the end of Cup Week.
MACSeye
Following discussions with Silvia, our School Advisory Council Chair I have requested a meeting with MACSeye to discuss the availability of care during student free days and to review current program offerings. Unfortunately, I was not aware that the service had been cancelled on Friday 30 October and Monday 2 November. I discovered that this was based on projected enrolments, not actual enrolment numbers. We remain committed to ensuiring reliable, high-quality care optiuons for our families and I will keep families updated following our discussion.
Enjoy the promise of the warmer weather this week,
Christine
