TheirCare News

Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends! Welcome to Week 3 of Term 2.

We would like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respect to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.

This week, we’re celebrating “Mother’s Day & Special Persons Week,” and it’s been a wonderfully busy time here at TheirCare. On Tuesday alone, we had over 80 children join us for a fun-filled afternoon.

We’ve added some exciting new board games to our collection, including Air Hockey, Scrabble, Chess, Jenga, and Snakes and Ladders—these have quickly become favourites among the children.

To encourage responsibility and care for our shared resources, we’ve introduced a sign-in and sign-out system for the games. It’s been fantastic to see the children taking ownership and showing such great responsibility.

In the mornings, the children enjoyed a mix of creative activities including colouring, drawing, and origami. From time to time, we also added a bit of fun with singing and dancing, which brought lots of energy and smiles.

Afternoons have been just as exciting, especially with the arrival of brand new down balls and soccer balls—something the children have been thrilled about.

It’s truly wonderful to watch the children grow through these activities, as they build their creativity, patience, problem-solving abilities, and gross motor skills in such engaging ways.

PUPIL OF THE WEEK

This week’s Pupil of the Week is Haruka in 2CW for showing an active spirit and a grateful heart. Whether it’s joining in activities with enthusiasm or lending a helping hand she has set a great example for her peers. Her positive attitude and appreciation for others have truly stood out—well done!
