A Message from the

Principal

Mrs Carolyn Parsell

Dear Parents and Carers,

As the year draws to a close we celebrate the successes of 2025 and look forward with joy to the coming year. It has been a wonderful year, full of great events and wonderful learning gains across the school. It makes me very proud and thankful to be principal in this thriving Catholic school community. I am most grateful to our amazing Parish Priest, Fr John, assistant Priest, Fr Liem and the amazing parish team for their unwavering support. I am blessed to have an amazing staff, who go above and beyond to make St Martha's a welcoming place for all and who make growing students in their faith and learning central to their work. I appreciate the fabulous support of the parent community, particularly the great team of the P&F who are instrumental in creating great events, fundraising and a climate of welcome and support. My gratitude to all the students for working hard to make St Martha's the kind of place where everyone wakes up in the morning and says, "Yay! I'm going to school today!"

I am looking forward to my leave at the start of 2026 and will be checking in to see how you are all continuing to build a thriving Catholic community here at St Martha's. I know I am leaving the school in very capable hands and trust that everyone will continue to rise to our expectations of being responsible, safe and respectful in 2026.

We bid farewell to Ms Katie Farrell who is returning to the UK to be closer to family. We thank her for her dedication and service and wish her all the best for the future.

Ms Delwyn Wong will be leaving her role of Diverse Learning Teacher, but will remain on our casual list. We thank Ms Wong for her wonderful service and support during her time as DLT and look forward to seeing her regularly in her capacity as a casual teacher.

We welcome to the staff Ms Vanessa Mesic-Lee as our new Music Teacher.

Prayers for Peace in our World

It has been a difficult week, following the tragic incident at Bondi. During Advent we continue to pray for peace for the world and continue our preparation for Christmas.

The Advent theme of love is celebrated during the fourth and final week of Advent, highlighting God’s deep and boundless love for humanity. Love is at the heart of the Christmas story: God sent his only Son, Jesus, as an act of selfless love to redeem the world. Let us pray that we can show love and compassion to all during this lead up to Christmas.

Farewell

We wish a fond farewell to all those families who are concluding their time at St Martha's. It was wonderful to celebrate at Mass on Tuesday and to have the opportunity to thank God for all the gifts we are blessed to receive each day. I hope all the students take with them fond memories of their time at St Martha's.
