Mr Hyatt

Welcome to Term 4!

Welcome back to Term 4!  I hope that everyone enjoyed the break with the summer-like conditions and are recharged for a hectic term ahead.  It was great to see everyone on Monday, as the students were very excited to be back to see their friends and teachers.

New Enrolments

I would formally like to welcome both Lucie Saxby (Year 3) and Archie King (Year 1) who joined the St Patrick's Learning Community this week. Both students have made a great start and I know that they will enjoy their time here at St Patrick's.

I would like to formally introduce Robert Trendall who commenced his teaching practicum working with the students in Years 3-4 and Miss Cattelini and Mrs Makeham. Robert will be working with us until the end of Week 6 (17th November). I know that Robert will definitely enjoy his time working with us.

Term 4 - Summer Uniform

The children look great in their Summer Uniforms. Please support the staff in ensuring your child/children are fully dressed in their correct uniform each day.  This includes the correct hat, shorts, socks and black shoes, blue/red hair ribbons.

St Patrick's has always had high expectations around the school uniform and it is an expectation that everyone wears the correct uniform with pride everyday.

Parents please make sure your child has the correct uniform on each day.

Please send a note to school if your child has a reason for being out of uniform.

Term 4 Excursion Update

Even though I am in Dubbo at the moment, I have heard on the grapevine that all of our Kindergarten, Years 1 and 2 students had a fantastic time at Tamworth watching the Possum Magic Performance yesterday. Thanks again to Mrs Flanagan and Ms Wilson for organising the day. A full report of this excursion is included in this newsletter.

The Year 3-4 students will be participating in an overnight excursion to Thalgarrah Environment Education Centre on the 23rd and 24th of November. Mrs Makeham and myself will be supervising the students on this excursion. More information will be sent home next week.

Also, more information went home to all of our Years 5-6 families in regard to their major excursion to Coffs Harbour from the 23rd to the 27th October. Mrs Davey and myself will be supervising the students on this excursion and looking at the itinerary, we are going to have a great time. It is fantastic to see that all of the online portals and final payments have been submitted already and in just over a week's time, the students will be boarding the bus heading toward sunny Coffs Harbour. Hopefully, the glorious weather that we have been experiencing will continue during this time. In order to fit all of our activities in during the four days and three nights, there have been some modifications made to our itinerary and the updated version will be sent home to all of our Years 5-6 families early next week.

Below in the attachment is a copy of the letter that was sent home to all of our Years 5-6 families late last term. It is important that our participants are familiarised with the various items they require as well as other information provided. Mrs Davey and myself will be taking heaps of photos and all of our Year 5-6 families will be provided a link to access any of these photos this upcoming Monday.

If anyone is encountering any difficulties and/or has any further questions/queries in regard to the Coffs Harbour Excursion, please feel free to contact the school.

CRAZY SOCK AND HAIR DAY - Thursday 19th Oct for Catholic Missions Fund Raising.

With our Years 5-6 students participating in the Coffs Harbour excursion in the next fortnight as well as some of our students involved with the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time next Friday (20th October), we have decided to have our annual CRAZY Sock and Hair Day on Thursday 19th October (next week). Everyone is encouraged to wear something crazy in their hair, wear some crazy socks and bring a GOLD coin for the Mission appeal.

I thought I had already mentioned that I was never going to volunteer myself to be kidnapped and taped to the wall again!  But for some strange reason, I am going to be in the same situation again next Thursday afternoon. Where the staff and students will get their revenge and tape me to the wall. Hopefully, I will be able to make a quick escape but I am not counting on it with a number of threads already coming my way. Students are reminded that if they would like to take part in this and make my life uncomfortable, they are encouraged to bring in another dollar to pay for a strip of masking tape. I am definitely looking forward to when this is all over. AGAIN!!!
