Deputy Principal's Update

Dear Friends,

2024 has been a year where a number of significant changes have been implemented. This year the restructuring of the School with the L@F24+ Program commenced. Seeing the changes ‘go live’ after several years of planning has made for an exciting year. I have been amazed by what this community has achieved and to see the development of the new Middle and Senior Schools. The emphasis on making the entire E-12 School be one community, has been heartwarming.

All three sections of the School have been superbly led by Mark, Lindy, Adam and their respective teams. The emphasis has not just been on the separate Early Learning / Primary, Middle and Senior School sections but how we can improve the connections so that the transitions from one campus to the other is more seamless. At this point in time, the Years 6 and 7 teachers as well as the Years 8 and 9 teachers are working hard to help set up 2025 for our students so that the start of next year goes smoothly.

As I look back and consider what has occurred this year in our community there are many highlights. 2024 was the first year of the new Year 8 Connections program which was an extension of the hugely successful Year 7 program that has been a part of our community for 20+ years. Aaron Davey has led the new Year 9 program and listening to the positive feedback that our students, parents and staff have provided, all indicate that this program is a welcome addition to the community. However, there is still work to be done as we re-examine 2024 and see where we can improve. Various reviews have taken place this year -  some have been investigated internally and some have been led by external consultants.  Education needs to be constantly evolving and we are certainly of the belief that we should be always striving to improve.

For 2025 and beyond we will be reviewing a number of the major changes that have occurred as a result of the L@F24+. Now that the outdoor education camps have concluded, the Year 9 Program will be examined and refined over the next 12 months.  While it is fantastic to have achieved so much we also recognise that we want to ensure that this program evolves and takes in feedback from our community so that it aligns perfectly with our Quaker philosophies and our students’ needs. Please look out for the opportunities to provide feedback.

If you have any questions please let me know. All the best and I hope everyone has a great time with friends and family over the summer and holiday season.

Yours Faithfully,
