Message from the Principal

Cecilia Parada

As we near the end of Term 2 and the first semester, it’s great to look back on all the fun and meaningful moments we've had together as a school community. Last week, we enjoyed celebrating Neurodiversity Week, helping everyone understand and appreciate the unique strengths and perspectives each student brings. These next two weeks are full of exciting events, and we’re proud that Meadowbank is not just a place for quality learning, but also a friendly and welcoming community where every student feels they belong and can get involved.

International Study Tour

We are excited to welcome students from Hong Kong this week, who will be experiencing the Australian schooling system firsthand. Meadowbank proudly hosts students from across the world, showcasing our excellent educational programs, modern facilities, and the dedication of our expert teachers who implement best practices every day. This cultural exchange enriches our community and reinforces our school’s reputation for inclusivity and academic excellence.

Student Semester 2 Academic Reports

Student reports will be sent home next week. Our teachers are finalising assessments, and your child’s report will undergo a thorough quality assurance review by our school executive team to ensure accuracy and clarity. We are excited to celebrate and share your child’s achievements and progress across this semester. Remember, a ‘C’ grade indicates that your child is meeting expected outcomes and progressing well, which might differ from grading interpretations in other education systems.

Parent-Teacher Interviews – Weeks 2 & 3 Next Term

SchoolBytes Interview bookings opened on Monday 22 June.

We’re looking forward to parent-teacher interviews happening in Weeks 2 and 3 of next term. You can book your interview time through SchoolBytes. There will be one afternoon where you can book an interview up until the early evening, and teachers will also be available for meetings in the mornings and after school.

To help us organise everything smoothly, we ask parents to book a time within the available slots, as it can be tricky for teachers to fit in meetings outside of these times, especially with up to 30 students per class.

If you require an interpreter at the interview, please email the school. We will arrange a time with the teacher, you, and an interpreter.

If you have any questions or need help with booking, please email the school.

We look forward to catching up with you and discussing your child’s progress.

Community Hub – Understanding Your Child’s Academic Report

This week’s Community Hub session will focus on the new report format, including how grades are presented and practical tips on how you can support your child’s ongoing academic development. We encourage all parents to attend and engage in these informative discussions.

New Arrivals Morning Tea

A heartfelt thank you to the many parents who joined us for the New Arrivals Morning Tea. It was a fantastic opportunity to share important information, welcome new families, and discuss how we can best support your children as they transition smoothly into their new school environment. We look forward to continued partnerships as we support your child’s learning journey.

Colour Run Fundraiser – Next Week

Our Colour Run fundraiser is well underway, with students eagerly collecting sponsorships to help fund memorable Year 6 end-of-year events, including a formal celebration at the Epping Club. Each week, the class with the highest donations will be recognised during assembly, and the top fundraiser from each year group will earn the opportunity to slime a teacher — and yes, even Miss Parada may face the slime challenge! Thank you for your ongoing support in making these special experiences possible for our students.
