World of Maths incursion

Dear Families,

Next Friday 23rd October we have our World of Maths whole school incursion. This will be held in the gym for students and teachers to attend. Cost of the incursion is $10 per child with payment and approval on XUNO.

This term we have invited the World of Maths (a travelling, interactive Maths Workshop) to visit our school. 

World of Maths offers an ideal opportunity for students to see how Maths is applied to everyday life situations, explore Maths in a hands-on environment. Students are encouraged to communicate their Maths ideas and answers with other students in small teams, working together. Students will gain insight into problem solving, working in teams, and explore various mathematic strains which are part of their curriculum this semester.

It is a highly engaging session which will show that Maths is everywhere and is important and of course that Maths is fun! Students will attend the World of Maths workshops with their grade at different times of the day.

Scholastic Book Fair

Our Book Fair to start Term 4 was a huge success and thank you to the school community for supporting the event. With our takings from the event, a percentage of that money comes back to the school in Scholastic Rewards which will go towards purchasing new books for classroom libraries and purchasing books for end of year gifts for the children. 

Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge

Congratulations to our students who participated in the 2026 Premier’s Reading Challenge and successfully met or exceeded their reading targets! Students received their certificates of achievement, signed by the Victorian Premier and former Premiers, this week. Well done to everyone involved!

Book Club

Scholastic Book Club is a service offered to students, parents, and teachers. Brochures advertising a variety of books and computer software are sent home with each student, approximately twice a term.

Purchase of the books is not compulsory and there is no obligation. If you do wish to purchase any goods, simply log into the Book Club site www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP and follow the prompts. All Book Club orders must be ordered and paid for via LOOP. Do not send order forms and cash to school. When the order arrives at school, books are sent home with students.

The School earns “Bonus Points” for each order which can be used to purchase new resources for classroom libraries.

How to order 

Click on ORDER in the top menu or REGISTER first to save your details for the first time.  Select Ballan PS and your child’s class.  Add your child’s name and last initial. Enter the item number from the brochure.

You can order for multiple children at once. All orders are linked directly to the school.  

Our school receives bonus points, which are redeemed for a variety of books for the children; therefore, we thank you for your continued support.

If parents wish to collect orders personally, please let the school know.
