A reminder that the AML site is a business with separate operations and is not part of our School premises. Unless you are staying at the AML, could all parents/guardians and students please ensure that you do not enter the AML premises either;
- to walk through;
- to access the parking; or
- to use the facilities.

Friends Together Student Giving Day & Free Dress Day
Wednesday 28 May
As part of our Friends Together Annual Giving Program, on Wednesday 28 May 2025, all Middle School students will be participating in the Student Giving Day, raising awareness and money for The Friends' Fellowship. This needs-based scholarship will enable a student, whose family can least afford it, to access a Friends' education next year.
In the Middle School, students are encouraged to get cozy and wear their pyjamas to school for a gold coin donation. Students will also be able to purchase hot chocolates and cookies supplied by our VET Cookery students for $2 a piece.

Year 7 Outdoor Education Beach and Bike Days
Year 7 students will be attending the second Outdoor Education Day Trips that they began in March. The May days are listed below. An Operoo was sent out in February that has the information for each activity.
Reminder: Drop off and pickup from Bell St Campus (8.30am to 3.30pm).

More information about the Outdoor Education programs can be accessed by the student and viewed with the family. The Operoo has a link to a google site that has extra information about the Beach and Bike Day.

Middle School Semester 1 Learning Conferences
All interviews will take place in the Middle School on the Argyle Street Campus on Tuesday 20 May and Wednesday 28 May from 3.50pm to 6.30pm.
The Learning Conferences take place in Weeks 4 and 5 of this Term, on Tuesday 20 May and on Wednesday 28 May. If you have not yet booked a spot, you can click here to book your Learning Conference times via SchoolInterviews.com.au.
Classes and room numbers are listed for each teacher within the system to assist you when making bookings, and are also available in an easier-to-read format here, with teachers organised by Key Class.
We strongly encourage students to be present during these meetings as an important part of their voice and agency in their learning journey.
Please note that bookings for the Learning Conferences will close at 1:00pm the day before each Learning Conference session.

Year 7 Immunisation Program
Friday 30 May
Hobart City Council have advised that most families have now completed the link.
Could those that have not yet completed do so before Friday 16 May. The email with the link was sent out on 2 May. Please contact the Middle School Office if you did not receive the email (it has gone to some Junk Mail folders).
Hobart City Council have requested that if you complete the form but want to change it or are not sure it went through to contact the Middle School Office rather than lodging a new form.
Middle School Term 2 Donation Drive
Launching in Week 1 until Week 4, the Student Voice Council are launching their first donation drive for the year, supporting the Hobart Womens’ Shelter. The Hobart Womens’ Shelter house and support Tasmania’s most vulnerable women, and the Council has researched a list of their most needed items for donation: long life milk, canned foods, pasta and pasta sauces, instant noodles, biscuits, muesli bars, cereal, oil, jam, juice pop tops, new single sheet sets or doona covers. Vouchers are also welcomed. Can we beat our record of over 600 items donated from 2024? Which House will collect the most items? Donations can be brought to the House tubs in the library, or to the Middle School Office.
Middle School House Pantomime - Coming Soon!
The theme of the Middle School House Pantomime has been launched for 2025; Disney Musicals! Student House Leaders for each House will draw their Disney Musical out of a hat at assembly on May 29th, and writing will begin straight away! Students interested in writing should contact their Student House Leader or Essie Hoggart asap, and auditions for aspiring performers will be before the end of Term 2! House Panto is a great way to show your leadership, get to know your peers and have a whole lot of fun!

Year 8 Connections Day
Friday 16 May, classes Preston, Stowe & Rustin
Classes will participate in a Field Trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens. This excursion will support the Science curriculum as students consolidate their understanding of plant structure, classification, and scientific drawing. Students will also participate in an IPad Photography Competition as part of this trip.
Students will walk from school to the Tasmanian Royal Botanical Gardens, leaving at the end of first break, and they will return to school by the end of the school day. They will need to bring their iPad, pencil case, recess and lunch, water bottle, hat, raincoat, warm clothing and appropriate footwear.
