Joy, Community and Gospel Conversations

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” — Colossians 4:2
Welcome to the second edition of the NCS Community Prayer Network for 2026. As the initial "back-to-school" rush settles into the steady rhythm of Term 1, we are reminded that our school’s true strength lies in our dependence on God rather than our own efforts. From the excitement of the musical rehearsals to the quiet conversations in our Bible studies, your prayers provide the vital spiritual support our staff and students need. Thank you for partnering with us as we lift up the life and mission of our school to the Lord.
Giving Thanks (Praise)
- A Joyful Welcome: We praise God for our Kindergarten students and the pure joy they expressed upon receiving their own Bibles. We thank Him for how they are already reflecting on His character in their daily learning.
- Community Connections: We give thanks for the 700 people who attended our recent Twilight Picnic. We praise God for the many new connections made and pray that these would lead to deep and lasting Gospel conversations.
- Academic Growth: Praise God for the excellent start Year 8 has made in French. We thank Him for their hard work and the enthusiasm they are showing as they master new language skills.
- Student Leadership: We thank God for our dedicated Bible Study leaders in Years 10–12. We are grateful for their willingness to spend time away from their own studies to prepare and write materials for their peers.
- Gospel Encouragement: We thank God for Sam (from Wollongong) and the time he spent with us speaking on the vital importance of evangelism.
Our School Life (Prayer for the School)
- The Musical: As rehearsals and preparations continue, we pray for health and stamina for all staff and students involved. We pray for the "joy of giving joy" and that our community would be characterised by a deep sense of mutual care between cast, crew, and team. May we honour God in how we treat one another and our future audiences.
- Classroom Focus: We pray for students who are currently finding it challenging to remain settled or attentive. Ask for God’s help for them to engage well and for wisdom for teachers as they manage classroom dynamics.
- Balance & Wellbeing: We pray for students involved in many extracurricular activities; thank God for their talents and pray for continued wisdom as they manage their time and energy.
Gospel & Mission (Kingdom Growth)
- Easter Assembly (April 2nd): We look forward with anticipation to our upcoming Easter Assembly. We pray specifically for our Principal, Mr. Jolliffe, as he prepares to share the Easter message. We ask that God would grant him great clarity and boldness as he speaks, and that the Holy Spirit would prepare the hearts of every student and parent in attendance to hear and receive the truth of the Gospel.
- Perspectives Evening: Pray for next Thursday night as we share with new families the heart of Christian schooling. Pray for open hearts and minds, fruitful table conversations, and for our Christian families to have the boldness to invite others to the upcoming 321 Course.
- New Arrivals: We pray specifically for families who are new to Australia. May we be mindful of their transition and find practical, loving opportunities to show them the heart of Jesus.
- Spiritual Hunger: We pray for the FISH program beginning in Week 6. Pray for the students preparing talks and for an increased desire across all year groups to study God’s Word together during lunchtime groups.
- Mentoring & Growth: We lift up the students currently being mentored and discussing questions of faith. Pray for the Christian students in our cohorts to be active and courageous in sharing their faith during daily lessons.
- Biblical Worldview: Pray for our staff as they seek to teach every subject through the lens of a Biblical worldview. May God give them wisdom and insight as they shape the minds of our students.
We thank God for the many ways He is working in our community. Please continue to pray that our school would be a place where Christ is honoured, the gospel is clearly proclaimed, and young people grow in faith and maturity.
With gratitude for your partnership in prayer.
