Project Compassion – Unite Against Poverty

During Lent, we also support Caritas Australia through Project Compassion, its annual Lenten fundraising campaign. For over 50 years, Project Compassion has helped vulnerable communities around the world by providing access to clean water, education, healthcare and sustainable food sources.

The 2026 theme, “Unite Against Poverty,” reminds us that while we may not be able to change the whole world at once, each small act of generosity can make a real difference. The good we do today can create lasting change for future generations.

Each classroom has a Project Compassion box. We encourage all students and families to support this important cause and to donate generously this Lent. Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to others.

Celebrating a Special Sacrament ~Baptism

We are pleased to share that Nate was recently baptised at St Jude’s Church.

Baptism is a significant moment in the Catholic tradition, marking the beginning of a child’s journey in faith and welcoming them into the family of God and the wider Church community. As a school, we rejoice with Nate and his family as he takes this special step.

We offer our congratulations and keep Nate and his family in our prayers as he continues to grow in faith within our parish and school community.

Sacrament of First Eucharist & Confirmation ~later this year

Preparation for each Sacrament takes place during Religious Education lessons with the classroom teachers. Students also complete follow-up activities at home and participate in a Family Workshop as part of their preparation.

Please note that this year’s Sacramental Program has changed slightly. It is compulsory for at least one parent to attend both workshops for each Sacrament their child is undertaking.

Each Sacrament includes:

• Two workshops to be attended by the child receiving the Sacrament and at least one parent.

• and Commitment Mass are to be attended by the child receiving the Sacrament and at least one parent.

Families will not be able to book a place for their child to receive the Sacrament unless they have attended both workshops, the Commitment Mass and completed any associated tasks.
