From the Principal
March 12, 2026
It’s been a short week, and after the public holiday, our students and staff have quickly settled back into learning. Despite the change in routine, classrooms have stayed focused, and our committed teachers keep providing engaging lessons while working closely with students to support their progress.
As we move further into the term, it’s common for students’ social stamina and coping skills to begin to dip. This is a natural part of the school term, and we are continuing to support students by using our School’s Positive Behaviour Matrix to guide conversations when issues arise, whether in the classroom or out in the yard. Using consistent language across the school helps everyone develop a common understanding of expectations and behaviours.
We also make sure students understand the difference between minor behaviours, which staff handle directly, and major behaviours, which are passed on to school leaders and are shared with families to address. Being clear about this helps students feel supported and know what steps are taken to help them get back on track.
Families might find it useful to use the Behaviour Matrix at home too, especially when talking about concerns or incidents. Working together like this between school and home makes our partnership stronger and helps our young people feel supported to learn, grow, and do their best.

NAPLAN Update
NAPLAN commenced on Wednesday with the Writing assessment, during which we did not encounter any connectivity disruptions reported in other locations. Today, our Year 3 and Year 5 students completed the Reading test and appeared calm, supported, and well prepared.
Next week, students will undertake the Language Conventions and Numeracy assessments. We sincerely thank Mrs Bullen and our Year 3 and Year 5 teachers for their thoughtful support of students throughout the NAPLAN period.
COLOUR RUN- PA MAJOR FUNDRAISER
Monday March 23 2- 3:30 pm
The Colour Fun Run is almost here! During next Monday’s assembly (Monday March 16), we will reveal the teachers who have volunteered to get slimed. We’ll draw students who earned four donations or met the individual fundraising goal to slime a teacher.
Students need an online profile, regardless of donations, to participate; this provides the necessary consent for the event company.
This is the school's major fundraiser; families are invited to get involved and help students raise money while having fun! Funds raised will support the construction of the next stage of the Indigenous Sensory Garden (Behind the GEM Centre - library), new digging and sandpits, and an indigenous animal pathway, enriching our outdoor learning spaces.
This week we’re highlighting our wonderful junior school teachers, Mrs Decarlo and Miss Keddou.
