Level 3 & 4

Welcome to another fantastic week in Grade 3 and 4! It has been wonderful to see students continuing to challenge themselves, show resilience in their learning, and support one another in the classroom and playground. We are proud of the effort students are putting into their work and the positive attitudes they are bringing each day. Thank you for your ongoing support at home, it truly makes a difference!
Thank you to everyone who joined our information session on Wednesday, we hope you found it helpful. For those who were unable to attend, here is the link for the recording:

Administration ✏️
It is important that all students bring headphones (wireless or plug in - whichever is suitable for their device) to school this week and ensure their iPads are fully charged each day, as they will be used daily in learning activities.
Wifi Issues
In these first few weeks, we have noticed many students have been unable to connect to our school wifi. Our technician believes a possible solution for this issue is to ensure your child's iPad is updated to the latest iOS version (26.3).
Devices that are not running iOS 26.3 may experience difficulty connecting to the school network or accessing required apps and services.
Before starting the update, please check that the iPad has enough available storage space. You may need to delete unused apps, old photos/videos, or other files in order for the update to install successfully.
To update:
- Open Settings
- Tap General
- Select Software Update
- Download and install iOS 26.3
We recommend completing this update at home using a reliable Wi-Fi connection and ensuring the iPad is charged or plugged in during the process.
Specialist Timetable
Please find the current timetable below:
Literacy 📚
This week, students will focus on reading and re-reading texts to build deeper understanding. They will practise finding evidence in the text to support their answers to a range of comprehension questions and will work on unpacking questions to understand exactly what is being asked.
In writing, students will be working on narrative texts, with a focus on linking paragraphs using connectives such as because, then, and therefore, while following correct narrative structure.
🏡 What can you do at home?
Students in grades 3 and 4 are expected to read for 20 minutes at home each evening independently and we are encouraging all students to borrow regularly from the library to keep their book supply fresh. Please discuss with your child what they are reading and ask them about the characters, setting, problem and solution.
Maths 🧮
- Grade 3 students will be learning about place value and counting, focusing on learning odd and even numbers and reading, writing and representing numbers up to six digits.
Grade 4 students will focus on addition and subtraction, reading maths questions carefully to identify what is being asked, and choosing appropriate strategies to solve problems.
🏡 What can you do at home?
Your child will be allocated specific tasks on Mathletics, in addition multiverse is an option for them to practice their multiplication fluency.
CBL 🌎
Students will continue to explore the big idea of ‘Community’ this week and consider how people join communities and how they contribute to their own communities.
From this they will be developing an understanding of their own identity and how communities shape their identities.
🏡 What can you do at home?
Talk to your child about the communities you belong in and why they are important to your family.
Wellbeing 💛
Our SWPBS focus this week is Be Safe, with an emphasis on keeping our hands and feet to ourselves. In Respectful Relationships, students are building their emotional literacy by naming emotions that they may feel in response to different situations.
🏡 What can you do at home?
Reinforce safe behaviours by reminding your child to keep hands and feet to themselves during play and interactions with others.
