International Student Update

Thursday 19 March 2026

Welcome back to term 2 2026, and hope you all had a good break. We had a very busy schedule last term and would like to share with you some of the events the ISP students have been involved in .

Feedback from our short-term study program students

Every year, we have limited places for the Short-terms Study students from overseas. Below is the message from the father of Henry (Y11) and Mieke (Y8) who were enrolled with us for term 1 this year.

"Our first visit to Australia was an amazing experience, though the lead-up to it came with quite a few nerves. We kept wondering: would the kids adjust to the new school system? Would they manage with the language? And would they even have a chance to make friends in such a short time? But even before our first day at the school, we already had a really good feeling. The ISP staff had reached out to us early on via WhatsApp, and when we finally arrived, everyone at the international program was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. It was something we weren’t used to and definitely hadn’t expected in that way. The kids especially loved the timetable — it was so varied and full of interesting subjects, including some they’d never even seen in Germany. The excursions and school events were also fantastic experiences. What surprised us the most, though, was how quickly they picked up the language. And as for making friends — that worked out wonderfully too. They went out together for ice cream, to footy games, to birthday parties, and even had sleepovers. Before long, they were already asking: “Do we really have to go home after just one term? ”All in all, it was a truly wonderful stay, made possible by the school, the international school program and all the kind and welcoming people. Thank you so much for such a great time!"

We are so pleased to receive such positive feedback. On the last day of term 1, Henry and Mieke's mother came to our office with a box of chocolate to show their appreciation to ISP staff.
