Hats🤠

With UV levels now reaching above 3, it is time for students to start wearing their hats again. From Monday (31st August), hats will be compulsory whenever students are outside, so please make sure your child brings their school hat each day. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe in the sun!

Book Week

What a wonderful Book Week we have enjoyed! On Tuesday morning, students arrived dressed as their favourite book characters and proudly joined our parade, with many parents and carers coming along to share in the fun. Throughout the week, students enjoyed story time with our school leaders, searched the grounds for the many Wallys hidden around the school, and attended the engaging Symphony of Stories presentation with Josh Pyke. Of course, our Book Fair was also a huge hit, helping to make this year’s Book Week a fantastic celebration of books, imagination and the joy of reading! A big thanks to Gabby Kotis for organising!

Master Plan

We are thrilled to share that we have officially appointed an architect to begin developing our school’s Master Plan. This is an incredibly exciting milestone for MPS and marks the beginning of our journey as we consider the future of our school’s facilities and learning environments. Over the coming months, the architect will work closely with our school and the VSBA to explore possibilities and develop a long-term vision for our site. We look forward to keeping our families informed and providing opportunities for our community to contribute as the planning process progresses.

3-6 Camp Update

We are having a wonderful time at camp! There was plenty of excitement last night, which meant a little less sleep than we may have hoped for, but everyone is happy, well and making the most of the experience. So far, students have enjoyed a fantastic range of activities, including the flying fox, bush bingo, canoeing, hut building and mini golf. There have already been plenty of smiles, laughs and memorable moments, and we are looking forward to another fun-filled few days ahead!

Lockdown Drill

Two weeks ago, we conducted a planned lockdown drill as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and prepared school environment. Staff and students responded calmly and followed the procedures exceptionally well, allowing the drill to be completed smoothly and successfully. These practice drills are an important opportunity to ensure everyone understands what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency, and we were very proud of the responsible way our students participated.

Chromebooks

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our Parents and Friends Association and the generosity of our school community, we have been able to purchase additional Chromebooks for our Middle and Senior students with our fundraising money. These new devices will provide students with greater access to digital learning opportunities and support their engagement with the curriculum. We are incredibly grateful to our school community who helped make this purchase possible. 🙏
