PRAYER

Lord God, Creator of all things,

to You do we send forth our prayer.

Hear our plea, our hope for the future, our lives and our environment.

Bless the environment, assist us in our responsibility to be co-creators of this beauty.

Strengthen our resolve to be caretakers of our Earth.

Assist us in our struggle to remember to treasure our heritage and keep it alive for generations to come.

Help us to be forever mindful of Your presence in all that is around us.

To be respectful and reverence that which is Sacred. We ask this through Jesus your Son.

Amen

From the Principal

Dear Families,

Catholic Education Week commences Sunday 15 March. This year’s theme celebrates the significance of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of our local Church in Melbourne…

“Christ beside me: Walking in the footsteps of Saint Patrick”

During this week we will celebrate Harmony Day on Monday 16 March. All students are invited to wear a splash of orange, the colour that represents harmony, or cultural dress. Students will engage in a prayer service on this day followed by a shared lunch in the hall.

We also have an open morning on Wednesday 18 March. Parents are welcome to visit the classrooms between 9-9.30am and experience the English learning block.

School Closure Days Semester One

Throughout the year we have designated school closure days for staff professional learning and development. Our first closure day for this semester is scheduled for Monday 15 April, which is in the first week of Term 2. On this day all staff will engage in first aid training.

School Advisory Council

The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a crucial part of our school community as it promotes consultation between parish, school and families. Parent representatives share their wisdom and offer support to me in relation to strategic interests of the school according to our terms of reference. Our Term One meeting is scheduled for Thursday 26 March at 7.00pm. If you are interested in being a part of the SAC or if you would like further information please contact me.

Tuck Shop

"We would love to welcome all the new families starting at St Philips this year. Our Tuck shop is a highlight of the week for the children. They love seeing their parents during lunchtime counter sales! Lunch orders are taken in the morning and delivered to classrooms ready for lunch time. Over lunch time, we have snacks and treats available for sale over the counter. If you are able to spare 1 or 2 sessions per term to volunteer, we would love to hear from you! Full training will be provided. Each volunteer session is from 11:30 - 2.30pm, working in a pair. See below for contact details.

Tuckshop is open every Friday, we are very fortunate to have our tuckshop run by parent volunteers for the students enjoyment. This would not be possible without our small team of committed volunteers showing up week after week.

Please reach out to Clara on 0449 767 020 or Angi on 0431 021 711 if you can help. We appreciate your support.
