Welcome to a warm week 2

Hello Families,
We’ve had another great week here at Naranga School! Our students continue to demonstrate positive school routines and “ready to learn” behaviors, whether entering and exiting classrooms or moving around the school buildings and grounds.
Students in the Upper Junior and Senior School have started their chosen elective classes in addition to core specialist subjects. All class groups have enjoyed the introduction of dedicated music classes, thanks to the addition of Anne Martin to our teaching team.
It was wonderful to see so many friendly faces at our welcome BBQ on Wednesday afternoon. The sun was warm, and many sausages were enjoyed by all. The Churros van was also a big hit! It was a great opportunity for families to connect informally with teachers.
A quick reminder: Student Support Group meetings are scheduled from February 17th to 21st. These meetings offer a chance for families to meet with classroom teachers, share information, and work together to support each student’s learning.
Online Safety
Young people are spending more time online than ever before. While the internet helps them stay connected and supports both work and play, it’s important to be mindful of the risks. Our school is committed to helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to be safe and respectful users of technology.
Unfortunately, we’ve received multiple reports from students who are feeling increasingly unsafe online. It’s crucial to have open conversations with children and young adults about the risks of interacting with people they don’t know.
We encourage students to be brave, speak up, and seek help from a trusted adult if they feel unsafe.
If students experience unwanted contact online, we recommend the following steps:
- Report the incident to the relevant social media platform on all apps used.
- Block the offending account (note: the blocked person will not be notified).
- Delete the offending accounts.
- Cease all communication immediately.
- Do not send any further images
As a school community, we are committed to helping young people feel safe and have positive experiences online. Please make contact with the school if you have any concerns.
Enjoy your weekend.
