Cool Cords Assembly Performance

Gallery Image

If you felt the ground shaking at our recent assembly, don’t worry, it wasn’t an earthquake, it was just the Cool Cords bringing the house down with their fantastic performance.

What a show. What a vibe. What a team!

Every student should be bursting with pride over the pieces they’ve been learning. From the first note to the final note, each performer delivered something special. Gerry even delivered a song worthy of a button press on ‘The Voice’. You could see the hard work, the practice, and maybe even a few secret living room rehearsals paying off in real time. Truly amazing performances all around.

A huge shout out goes to Jackie, our piano and keyboard star, whose teaching superpowers continue to turn curious learners into confident musicians. Her guidance, encouragement, and knack for making music fun shine through every performance.

We’re already counting down the days until the next Cool Cords showcase in Term 3. If this assembly was anything to go by, we’re in for another absolute treat.

Until then, keep practising, keep smiling, and keep up the amazing work!

Reconciliation Week Buddies Activity

To acknowledge Reconciliation Week, our Year 6 and Foundation students came together for a special buddies session filled with creativity, connection, and reflection. Students explored a range of Indigenous artworks, drawing inspiration from the rich colours, patterns, and stories shared through First Nations art.

Using this inspiration, our buddy pairs created their own beautifully decorated rocks, featuring colours reflective of the Aboriginal flag. The results were vibrant, thoughtful, and wonderfully unique. We won't mention t paint spills, fingerprints and the mixing of paint colours!

Reconciliation Week is an important time in our school community. It encourages us to learn about Australia’s shared history, listen to First Nations voices, and reflect on how we can contribute to a future strengthened by respect and understanding.

It was lovely to see our students connect so naturally, working side by side in an engaging activity that sparked conversation, curiosity, and appreciation. Moments like these remind us how powerful learning together can be.
