Community News

We are thrilled to share some exciting news from our FWPS community – Lucy Schwartz (6MI) has been selected to represent Victoria in the 12 Years and Under School Sport Victoria Golf Team!

Lucy will be heading to Ballarat Golf Club from 25–29 October 2025 to compete in the School Sport Australia Golf Championships. She’ll be teeing off against some of the best young golfers from across the country, with players coming from ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC and WA. Over three rounds of competition, Lucy will showcase her talent, determination, and love for the game.

Her journey to the team was no small feat – Lucy secured her spot by finishing 5th overall at the Victorian Primary School Championships in Bendigo, earning direct entry into the Victorian team. That’s an incredible achievement!

For those who know Lucy, her success comes as no surprise. She is dedicated to her sport, practicing and playing golf almost every day of the week. Currently, she holds an impressive handicap of 11 – from the adult tee markers, no less!

And the good news doesn’t stop there. Looking ahead to 2026, Lucy has also been selected to receive a scholarship at the Maribyrnong Sports Academy in Golf. This amazing opportunity will support her continued growth as an athlete while she follows her golfing dreams.

We are so proud of Lucy and can’t wait to cheer her on as she represents Victoria this October.
