Health & Safety Representatives (HSRs)

Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) are elected by employees to advocate for workplace health and safety, support consultation processes, and assist in identifying, raising, and resolving health and safety issues.
The group of workers an HSR represents is called a Designated Work Group (DWG).
Workplaces may agree to one or more DWGs depending on the size and structure of the workplace.
We have Kevin Loo (HSR) and Fiona Micelotta as Deputy HSR.
WHAT AN HSR DOES
It’s the HSR’s role to represent you and others in their DWG. They can do this by:
- Talking to members of their DWG about OHS matters.
- Monitoring and auditing the employer’s compliance with their legal duties.
- Inquiring into anything that appears to be a risk to the health or safety of the DWG or other people.
HSRs raise health and safety risks with the employer as they arise, with the goal of having the employer resolve these issues.
The HSRs will raise and discuss any Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) concerns with the Principal, Dan Moloney and their delegate, Mary Boutros.
Health and Safety Committee Subcommittee
In accordance with the school's OHS Calendar, the Health and Safety Committee meets as a subcommittee to review and consider matters that have been referred to the committee for discussion, consultation, or recommendation.
The subcommittee currently consists of the following:
