Before reading the school information, I did not realise how many parts of school life are supported through school contributions. I thought it mainly covered stationery, but I now understand it helps provide many important learning resources and experiences for students at Heidelberg Primary School.

I learnt that contributions help provide everyday classroom materials such as paper, pencils, folders, art supplies, sports equipment, science and STEM resources, as well as technology including iPads and laptops. The school bulk purchases many of these items so all students have access to what they need for learning.

I also now understand that contributions support online learning programs used by students across the school for reading, maths, assessment, and communication.

Another thing I did not realise was that contributions help support whole-school learning experiences such as swimming and water safety lessons, House Cross Country, and Matsuri Day.

HPS is one of the few schools in the area, if not the only one who employs a First Aid Officer who is a former registered nurse to support student health, safety, and wellbeing throughout the school week.

Contributions also help maintain and improve the school library, technology, school grounds, and learning spaces so students continue to have access to updated resources and equipment.

Before reading this information, I did not realise that these contributions can also assist families who may need financial help. The school can support families through programs such as, Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF), Breakfast Club and second-hand uniforms.

The school offers a range of support options and families can speak with the school confidentially if needed.

Thank you to all families who continue to support our school community and help provide valuable learning opportunities for all students.
