Resource Centre
The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week is being celebrated from the 17th to 23rd August this year. The Book Week theme for this year “Reading is Magic” provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy and possibilities of reading.
The theme encompasses the magic that reading can take you to other worlds; it helps you explore new ideas and also helps you to understand different people, cultures and countries around the world. It celebrates both fiction and non-fiction and the positive benefits of reading.
As part of Book Week celebrations, the Resource Centre is featuring both fiction and non-fiction books including First Nations stories, multicultural authors and a range of non-fiction topics in a display of new books which are available for students to borrow and enjoy.
Many of the Year 12 students are taking the opportunity to study at the Resource Centre during their HSC Trial Exams and to get further valuable assistance from their teachers in a range of subjects.
A second reminder to return books overdue from Term 2 will be sent out this week. Should students with these overdue items not contact the Resource Centre for an extension of time or do not return the books, details will be forwarded to the Finance Department to process an invoice for the replacement cost of those items. I wish to thank those students who have requested extensions of time or returned their books.
