What’s happening in Wellbeing
Our 5/6 CALM Youth participants were delighted to receive a surprise visit from AJ, Michael and Khalid last week. ‘The Youth of Today are the Leaders of Tomorrow’ session facilitated by the inspiring team, generated a lot of excitement and energy as our students reflected on their portfolio and continued to understand who they are, what they like and ultimately where they want to be. We look forward to receiving 3 more surprise check-ins from the Calm team this year! Don’t Panic, It’s CALM!

The Wellbeing team are excited to be able to offer the ‘Tuning into Teens’ parenting program, facilitated by Kids First, onsite at BPS in term 4. Tuning into Teens (TinT) is an evidence-based program that supports parents and carers to feel more confident to connect with their teens, understand their needs and challenges, support them to manage strong emotions and reduce conflict. The is a free program and will run on Wednesdays at 9.30 – 11.30am onsite for 6 weeks. We would love to see as many parents as possible attend this program in a safe, confidential setting with a delicious weekly morning tea!
For more information and to register your interest in this program please contact Kate via email -kate.bonazza@education.vic.gov.au

Mr Meagher’s wonderful 5/6 students have created their own clam corner in the classroom. The corner created by the students includes a Mood Thermometer incorporating the Zones of Regulation, positive affirmations and supporting posters for classmates to utilise when they need some timeout to support their wellbeing & regulated emotions. Our fabulous Nicole Morton has helped to create this safe and inclusive area for our students.
