At the end of Term 2, the Year 4’s participated in an Island Escape Incursion. Students were trapped on a remote island and had to work together to find a way to escape! Through a series of whirlwind challenges, students expanded on their collaboration skills, unlocked their problem-solving expertise, sharpened their critical thinking and unleashed their creativity. They were rewarded with treasure throughout the day, both for individual efforts and how well they worked as a team. It was amazing to see our students working together and encouraging their peers.

"I found the tallest tower activity amusing because it was hard. The zipline was so fun even though we lost! The roadblock was very, very, very hard. In the end we finished!"

Connor

"My favourite part was saving Sam because we had many bad attempts but finally got it then got it again!"

Gabi

"My favourite part was building the tower because we weren't allowed to talk. It was fun because we had challenges."

Tim

"My fav part was saving Sam. It was funny when Sam fell out of my zipline.”

Chloe

"My favourite part was the Sam carrier. It was challenging and fun."

Annalena

"My favourite thing was the zipline. I liked it because it took the whole day."

Molly

My favourite part was the zipline race because we won first place! The hardest part was saving Sam. The most annoying part was getting through the life jacket."

Menula

"I found saving Sam very hard because he was allergic to humans! The tallest tower might be the best activity.”

Jin Hao

"I found saving Sam hard because we couldn't touch anything. All we had were paper clips. My favourite part was the zipline because you had to race with these cups that the groups designed."

Raffy

" My favourite part was building the tower because it was creative. I found saving Sam challenging because we couldn’t use our hands."

Mason

"I loved the last activity because it involved a lot of craft and imagination."

Isley

“I was really excited when Ary won the roadblock game because team JMASK Pirates got a lot of coins! My favourite challenge was building the tallest tower because it was fun and a good challenge to communicate without talking!”

Scarlett

“I loved the tower game because it was a challenge, but also fun! The roadblock game was also fun, I made it to the last three people which were me, Ary and Eric. My team was called the JMASK Pirates, and our team won!”

Morgan

“My favourite activity was tower building because it was very competitive. It was so funny when everyone tried to memorise the actions. It was a really good day.”

Georgio

“I loved it when we did the roadblock and we came second. The best activity was the zipline because I got to see other people’s creations. My favourite part was when my team added a flag to our tower. It was also funny when we couldn’t get Sam into the cup during the challenge.”

Josh

“I loved the zipline activity because we used teamwork. The best activity was the roadblock because it was like Simon Says.”
