Careers at Naranga

Hello school community. My name is Jodie O'Meara. I will be taking over from Brooke Winnett as the new Career/Pathways Practitioner at Naranga school.

Over the last four weeks, Pathway and Senior students have been busy participating in VET programs on and off site. The Certificate II in Horticulture is growing speed as students redesign and landscape the Cottage Garden. Learning includes the skills necessary for students to build a sensory, Indigenous, and veggie garden.

Pathway students are spending Wednesdays off site participating in Certificate II Cooking and Certificate III in Screen and Media. These programs allow our students to socialize with others, learn in new environments while gaining industry and employability skills.

This will be a busy year for Careers. As Year 12s transition from school to post school options, it is valuable to have your NDIS, with School Leavers Employment Support (SLES) in place to increase senior students access to employment opportunities. Use the link below to access information and contact the Brotherhood of St Laurence for advice and support.
