College Captains' Report
I hope everyone had a great break and are well rested, as we have a busy last term and many things to look forward to.
For our Year 12s, this is their last week at Beaumaris Secondary College before their exams! Their last week has been a fun one, everyday there has been a different dress up theme. First was house colours day, which the whole school got involved with and there were some great outfits!
Secondly the Year 12s dressed up as their younger selves, which was real blast to past for them, I’m sure!
Thirdly they were able to display their creative sides and bedazzle their school uniform and lastly, they will dress up as their future selves, we are all very excited to see what they come up with over the course of their last week!
On Friday, the Year 12s will have their graduation celebrations and dinner, in which they will reflect on 6 great years at Beaumaris Secondary College, and how, as the foundation year group, created the Beaumaris culture that we all know and love. Although we are sad to say goodbye to them, I’m sure we are all looking forward to whatever the future has in store for them.
For both Year 11 and 12 students, exams are fast approaching, and all our students are working hard to achieve the best outcomes. We wish them all the best of luck and know they will do fabulously!
In our Term 4 assembly, some students were among the first awardees to receive the STRIVE and Rising Star Awards. Congratulations to all who received these awards.
On Sunday 8 October, Beaumaris Secondary College hosted a Safety and Wellbeing festival, which entailed many fun activities and organisations such as games, a sausage sizzle, Victoria Police, Fire rescue among others and some great performances.
On Thursday 12 October, our Year 7 students will be participating in a Cultural Day in which they will be able to dress up and learn about different cultures. As part of this, the entire school will get to enjoy crepes from a crepe van.
This term we have a lot to look forward to such as our upcoming information night for the 2024 Year 7 students, our BE program where students will find out what their next year at Beaumaris will look like and our end of year Presentation Night. These are just some of the big events too look forward to this term.
Thank you,
Edie W
