Hola from Barcelona - from the Antunovitch Family:
Buenos Dia, good morning - a little update from us.
It's all getting exciting here as racing starts this weekend! Hopefully, they win the races, and Mrs Taylor has good news on that!
On a bike ride one morning, we saw a Waka and paddle crew practicing. They had come all the way from Auckland to participate in the ceremony of sending the Team NZ boat and sailors out on race days. If you look closely, you can see the Waka in front of the Team NZ base in the photo.
Hopefully, you can watch the video here :https://1drv.ms/v/c/9d8749db482f46a8/ESELW69IyP9CjS6rXVSQx74B7-47NmyTp8wezYEe948l2A
We recently had a cool adventure on Dad's day off to Montserrat, a village up in the mountains. It has really interesting rock formations - Montserrat means 'serrated mountain'. We went to the very top, which is 1,200m high! It was much cooler up there than we have experienced so far.
We caught a train to the village, then a Funicular (a mountain train) to the very top of the mountain—it was so steep! You can see in the photo.
We were lucky to go to the Opening ceremony of the America's Cup, where Johnny took a photo with a group of policemen (Policia)—they look different here from our Police. And we saw a very cool display in the sky (done by drones!).
I think the next few weeks will go fast and we'll be home before we know it!
Talk soon, the Antunovich's x
Update:
Wow, all done - We'll get that cup home as requested. It was pretty impressive, close racing. It's a surreal time being here. We're so proud and appreciative but ready to come home. Johnny is excited to see the new classes and settle back in. See you in a week or so 😊
