Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

The past two weeks have been a wonderful opportunity to consolidate learning, strengthen routines and build confidence within the classroom. The children have been engaged in a range of learning experiences that have allowed them to revisit and reinforce key skills and concepts, while also developing greater independence in their learning. 

It has been lovely to see the children settling into routines, working collaboratively with their peers and demonstrating enthusiasm and curiosity as they engage in new learning. These consistent routines and opportunities to practise skills have provided a strong foundation for continued growth and learning throughout the term.

Morning Kiss and Drop Reminder

Thank you to everyone who uses Kiss and Drop during the morning school run.  A friendly reminder to families using our morning Kiss and Drop area: please remain in your vehicle while your child safely exits the car.

If your child needs additional assistance, please park in an appropriate parking area and walk them in. Getting out of the car in the Kiss and Drop zone can hold up the flow of traffic and cause delays for other families.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep the Kiss and Drop area moving safely and efficiently each morning.

Supporting our staff while planning for the future

Currently, all Catholic schools are working through planning and budgeting activities for 2027 to ensure we are well placed to support our staff, students and school communities in the coming year. This includes looking at how we can accommodate the changes likely to flow from a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) with school staff.

We recognise the significant financial pressures many households are facing, and we are making a conscious effort to ensure these costs are not passed on through significant fee increases.

We will continue to keep our parent community informed throughout this process. As always, our focus remains on maintaining strong school communities and continuing to deliver a high-quality Catholic education for every student

Book Week reflection

What a wonderful Book Week we have had!  Our school has been filled with the joy, imagination and excitement that comes from a love of reading. Throughout the week, students have had the opportunity to celebrate books, authors and illustrators, while discovering new stories and revisiting some much-loved favourites.

The highlight of the week was seeing our students embrace the spirit of Book Week through their fantastic costumes during last Monday's book parade.  From beloved storybook characters to creative and imaginative creations, our students looked wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed sharing their favourite characters with their friends and teachers.

Book Week is a wonderful reminder of the important role books play in helping children develop their imagination, creativity, vocabulary and understanding of the world around them. Most importantly, it encourages children to see reading as something to enjoy and share.

A huge thank you to our families for supporting Book Week and helping make it such a memorable celebration. We hope the excitement of the week inspires our students to continue exploring new books, discovering new worlds and developing a lifelong love of reading!

New classroom furniture

It is a very exciting time in our Junior School, with new tables recently purchased for the Prep classrooms. This furniture supports our explicit instruction approach to teaching and learning, allowing all students to face the front of the classroom and maintain their focus on the teacher during lessons.

New tables and storage tubs have also been purchased for the Year 1 and Year 2 classrooms, thanks to funds raised through the Parents' Association. We are incredibly grateful to all families for your generous support of Parents' Association events over the years. Your contributions have made these important furniture upgrades possible and will have a positive impact on our students’ learning environments.

MACSSIS Survey

In 2026, our school is taking part in the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS). The surveys give students, families and staff an opportunity to share their views on the school’s strengths and areas for improvement.

Families are encouraged to participate, as their feedback helps the school identify priorities and guide ongoing improvement.

In the coming weeks, each family will receive a survey link and login code. The school values your feedback and encourages all families to take part.

Get involved in your child's education - Join the Parents' Association!

Why have a Parents' Association?

We believe that children thrive when there is a strong partnership between home and school. We would love for you to be involved in your child’s education and to work alongside us in creating a supportive and enriching learning experience for every child.

What is a Parents' Association?

The Parents' Association is a wonderful opportunity for parents and carers to connect with one another, share ideas, support school initiatives, and play an active role in enriching our children’s educational experience.  The Parents' Association has two main goals, fundraising for the school to enhance the school environment and the learning and teaching and also to oraganise social events for parents and families throughout the year.  

What committment is involved in being a part of the Parents' Association?

The Parents' Association has a number of different roles and responsibilies, which all work together, along with myself to support initiatives throughout the year.  There are a number of ways that you can get involved, as part of the Executive Team, Parent Representatives or through supporting at various events during the school year.  

Executive Team

The Executive team members liase with the school Principal to discuss and organise events throughout the year.  The Executive Team members also facilitate each Parents' Association meeting, by disussing items on the agenda and working closely with the Parent Representatives to organise events throughout the year.  

Parent Representatives

We are seeking a minimum of two parents from each year level to take on the role of Parent Representative. Parent Representatives are expected to attend the Parents’ Association meetings, which are held online once each term.

Each Parent Representative will also be responsible for helping to coordinate one event throughout the year, working closely with the Executive Team and School Principal. They will also encourage and involve other parents from their year level to assist on the day, helping to ensure we have plenty of volunteers to make each event a success.

Support at events

If you are unable to commit to being part of the Executive Team or taking on the role of a Parent Representative, we would still greatly appreciate your support at events throughout the year, particularly the event your year level is responsible for.

Please keep an eye out for invitations and requests from your year-level Parent Representatives about opportunities to get involved and lend a hand.
