Planning for 2027

While we are still in Term 3, planning for the 2027 school year is already underway at Rochester Primary School. Knowing our expected student numbers helps us plan classes, staffing and programs for next year.

If you know your child will not be returning to Rochester Primary School in 2027, or you are intending to leave our school community and won’t be returning in 2027 because of relocation or other reason, could you please advise us as soon as possible. A phone call to the office, or an email to the school would be most appreciated.  Please contact the school office as soon as possible and let us know which school they will be attending.

We appreciate families letting us know early, as this greatly assists with our planning for 2027.

A shout out to our grade 3/4 and 5/6 staff and students who made the best of a bad situation by holding their own mini Aths day after the rain cancelled  the district Aths events in Echuca Our School Values of 'Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Brave, Be your Best,' were on show for all to see. Well done to all involved.

Reading at Home

Reading with a parent or guardian at home is a valuable part of a child's learning journey throughout primary school. Children who regularly practise reading as part of their homework tend to develop greater confidence and independence in their reading skills. Just 10–20 minutes of reading each day can lead to noticeable progress. Whenever possible, talking with your child about the books they read helps deepen their understanding and enjoyment.
