Welcome back to Term 2! We have had a great start to the term with students settling straight back into routine and eagerly approaching their learning.

2027 Enrolments

Cobram Primary School is now open for enrolments for 2027. If you or a family you know have a student starting school in 2027 please contact the school for an enrolment tour. We look forward to showing off our state of the art facilities and teaching!

The process for enrolment at Cobram Primary School is as follows –

School tour and enrolment interview at Cobram Primary School. Please phone the school on 58721374 to make an appointment time.
Complete the online enrolment application (this is not the full enrolment)
Enrolment at Cobram Primary School offered
Families will receive notification to complete full enrolment online
Families to upload Birth Certificate and Immunisation Statement to online application or provide a copy to the school
Enrolment accepted by school

Attendance Streaks

It has been wonderful to see our students so enthusiastic about their attendance streaks. At our last assembly students were awarded with their 50 day streak!! Congratulations to those students. Ask your child what their streak is up to and help them reach their goal by having them at school every day!

Social Media

As technology continues to become an increasingly important part of everyday life, it is vital that we work together to support our children in developing healthy and safe online habits. Due to current regulations, introduced 10th December 2025, children under the age of 16 should not have access to social media platforms due to the significant impact they can have on mental health, wellbeing, sleep, learning, and social development. This includes platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Kick, Reddit, Snapchat, Threads, TikTok, Twitch, X and Youtube.e.

Research continues to show links between early social media use and increased anxiety, low self-esteem, cyberbullying, exposure to inappropriate content, and difficulties managing healthy relationships. Young people are still developing emotionally and socially, and many social media platforms are designed for older users.

A disturbing statistic has shown that 44% of Australian young people have experienced negative online interactions in the last 6 months. Sadly, cyberbullying is becoming more common as young people are spending more time online. I recommend that all parents and sit with their child and discuss how to remain safe whilst online. The website www.esafety.gov.au has a lot of valuable information for young people and parents.

Parents and families as a whole play an important role in setting clear boundaries around device and internet use.

We encourage parents and carers to:

- Delay access to social media for as long as possible

- Regularly monitor online activity and app usage

- Keep devices out of bedrooms overnight

- Encourage face-to-face social interaction and outdoor activity

- Model healthy technology habits at home

At school, we remain committed to supporting students to use technology safely, responsibly, and respectfully. By working together, we can help young people build positive digital habits that support their wellbeing both now and into the future.
