School Council Election Results

Following the counting of votes for the three parent/carer vacancies on School Council, the following parents have been duly elected to serve a two-year term:

• Caitlin Le Feuvre

• Charles Beaton

• Paul Hopkins

They will join other parent/carer members, along with staff and community representatives, on School Council.

The new School Council will meet on Thursday 26 March, when the positions of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer will be appointed. These office bearers form part of the Executive group.

Further information will be shared in the coming weeks for those who may be interested in becoming involved in our working parties and sub-committees, which include:

• Community Engagement & FUNdraising (CEF)

• Diversity & Inclusion

• Education & Innovation

• Finance & Infrastructure (Buildings & Grounds)

• Sustainability

Please note that you do not need to be a member of School Council to participate in these groups, and we warmly welcome community involvement.

2026 Student Leadership Positions

In recent weeks, selection processes for student leadership positions have been undertaken, including remaining Grade 6 leadership roles, Junior School Council (JSC) representatives from Grades 3–6 and Sustainability Representatives from Grades 2–6.

While we warmly congratulate those who were successful, we also acknowledge the courage and resilience shown by the many students who applied but were not selected or elected. We are incredibly proud of their willingness to step forward and contribute to our school community. The strong interest from so many students who want to help make Bell a better place is truly commendable.

We remain committed to strengthening student voice, agency and leadership in order to build school pride, and empower students to influence positive change in the areas that matter most to them. Remaining leadership badges will be presented at our final assembly for the term on Thursday 2 April at 1:30pm.

NAPLAN

This week, our Grade 3 and Grade 5 students commenced their NAPLAN assessments. After some initial technical difficulties that impacted Wednesday morning, subsequent assessments have proceeded without incident. Our students are to be congratulated for their positive attitude and willingness to engage with the process.

These National tests are one aspect of the school’s assessment schedule implemented throughout the year.  The results, when available, provide us with a snapshot of each child’s progress in core learning areas, however they should not be taken in isolation. Results are examined and correlated with other school-based assessments, including work samples, to gain deeper understanding of each child’s progress. At a school level, the aggregated data is used to track certain aspects of our school performance and assist us to identify areas for targeted improvement over time.

2026 Bell PS Fete

We are only two weeks away from our Fete on Saturday 28 March! Thank you to our Fete Organisers who are doing an amazing job.

We still need some volunteers to help run our stalls. While each area has a stall captain, we still need plenty of helpers to make the day a success. Shifts are only two hours long, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the Fete with your family. If we don’t get enough volunteers, we may need to reduce the number of activities and stalls on offer.  Every helping hand makes a difference:  Volunteer here

Thank you for supporting our school community!
