Creative Arts

This term in Music and Dance lessons, Stage 3 have been putting their creative talents to the test in a range of ways.  In Dance, students have been working in groups to choreograph a short dance sequence with the challenge of including unison and contrast effectively to create a show-stopping performance. Students have also been learning about unity and contrast in relation to Music and how these tools can be used to create interesting pieces of music. Last week, the Emus performed at Friday’s assembly with their brilliant boomwhacker renditions of Elephants Walk, Monkeys Run and It’s Raining Tacos.  Well done, Emus!

Science

This term in Science Stage 3 has been busy learning about the human body.  Last week we all designed a fair test to prove that our heart beats faster when we do physical activity.  We are looking forward to testing them out this week.

Maths

This term in Stage 3 Mathematics, we have worked diligently to improve our understanding of times tables. We have spent considerable time practising multiplication and division, and as a result, our skills have significantly improved. Many of us are now able to multiply numbers with two digits by three digits, as well as solve problems involving long division. Additionally, we have been learning about the Cartesian plane, exploring how to plot points and interpret coordinates. Throughout the term, we have tackled a variety of challenging tasks and made great progress in completing our assigned work. Overall, we are proud of the effort we have put in and the new skills we have gained in Mathematics.

PE & PDH

In PE, the Dingo and Emu classes have been actively practising key athletics skills, including high jump, discus, long jump, and shot put, in preparation for the upcoming Field Events Athletics Carnival. The students are building confidence and improving their technique as they get ready to compete.

In PDH, we have been exploring the essential qualities needed to build strong, positive relationships - such as respect, consideration, inclusion, teamwork and empathy. Students have also reflected on how they can apply these important skills across different aspects of their lives, fostering a supportive and caring community.
