Hello to all Moonie Families and Community,
Hello to all Moonie Families and Community
Welcome to Week 6, we are over halfway through the Term. It has been a busy one and we still have a few more events to come.
Under/Over 8s at Teelba
What a fantastic day we had…worse part the bus drive!! The best part…everything else!!
It was great to see so many activities on offer for our students to participate in and the enthusiasm everyone had throughout the day.
Attendance
Congratulations to all our students – our current attendance data for the year is sitting at a steady 92.4%, continuing to maintain a lead on the state average. Year 3-6 is still hanging onto the lead with 93.41% - stand out performance for Annie, yet to miss a day this year! In the P-2 class sitting in the podium places are Max, Clancy and Nina. Well done!
If you are a away due to illness or other reasons, please contact the school – absences can be recorded easily through QParents or on the Absence Phone Line – (07) 46 650 276
Planned Power Outage
There is a planned power at Moonie State School on Wednesday 28th May. This should have minimal impact on our teaching and learning.
Athletics
Thank you to Mr Paige for getting the students into their training for the up-and-coming Athletics Days. Thank you, Scott and Eliza, for marking out our practice shot put space. We are now looking to get the long jump pits ready. If you are able to give some time to get this done, please let us know.
Up and Coming Events
Reconciliation Day at Tara State Shire College
Year 3-6 will be attending Tara State Shire College for a community Reconciliation Event, the day will involve – beyond Broncos, cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts and other activities. Mrs Savill will be driving the bus with students departing Moonie State School at 8:30am. Tuckshop is available for students to purchase.
Lifeline 3000 Ride
On Friday 6th June representatives from Lifeline will attend Moonie State to provide activities and opportunities to interact with the cyclists on this bike ride. They will be providing students with a BBQ lunch. Parents are free to attend as well. There will be an RSVP sent out in the coming days for their catering purposes on the day.
I look forward to being back at school with you all next week for a great week of teaching and learning.
