Principal's Message
By Alex Werner
As we begin Term 3, I would like to say how excited I am to have joined the school community as your new Principal. So far this term, I have been spending as much time as possible getting to know our students, staff and families, and I am grateful for the warm welcome I have received from across the school community.
One of my personal goals for the term is to learn as many student names as possible within the first four weeks. I have made a strong start, and students have certainly helped by introducing themselves in classrooms and around the yard.
A highlight of my first two weeks has been visiting classrooms and seeing learning in action, including a couple of visits to our Batesford campus. It was fantastic to see the unique learning opportunities that the Batesford campus offers, and to meet Milo the lamb. It has been great to see students return from the holiday break engaged, settled and ready to learn. Across the school, students have been working enthusiastically with their teachers and peers, and I have been impressed by the positive learning environment that exists in every classroom.
I have been asking students what they love about our school and have had many great responses. Some of my favourites have included:
These responses speak volumes about Rollins PS and are something that, collectively as a community, we should be very proud of.
Term 3 is shaping up to be a busy and exciting one, with a range of learning opportunities, events and activities planned for our students. We are particularly looking forward to our school concert later in the term, which will provide students with a wonderful opportunity to showcase their talents, creativity and hard work. I know there will be plenty of excitement as preparations continue over the coming weeks.
I look forward to continuing to build connections with our students, staff and families throughout the term and celebrating the many achievements and successes that lie ahead. Thank you for your ongoing support, and I wish everyone a positive and successful Term 3.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for their work this year and particularly acknowledge Daniel and Liana for their leadership throughout Semester 1.
