Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

As we move further into Term 3, it has been wonderful to see the energy and enthusiasm around our school. The term is certainly gathering momentum, with students embracing new learning opportunities and staff continuing to work hard to provide engaging experiences both inside and outside the classroom.

I would like to begin by sincerely thanking all families for your support and patience during last week's industrial action. We understand that these disruptions can place additional pressure on families, and we greatly appreciate your understanding. We remain hopeful that an agreement will be reached soon so that we can continue to focus on what matters most—providing the best possible learning opportunities for our students.

On Wednesday, our staff came together for our Curriculum Day, which began with an inspiring presentation from the Brother Boys. Their messages about mateship, resilience and the importance of supporting one another set a positive and reflective tone for the day. Staff then participated in a range of collaborative and personalised professional learning workshops, allowing them to further develop their practice and continue improving outcomes for all students. Investing in our staff is one of the most important ways we can continue to provide high-quality learning experiences for every young person at Red Cliffs Secondary College.

A highlight of last week was our whole-school Pyjama Day, organised by our Student Representative Council. It was fantastic to see so many students and staff embracing the day, all while raising awareness and funds to support children in foster care and out-of-home care. School events like these are a wonderful reminder of the compassion and community spirit that exists within our college. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making the day such a success.

Next week is Student Support Group (SSG) Week, an important opportunity for families and staff to come together to discuss student progress and plan for future success. These meetings play a vital role in developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive both academically and personally. I would like to acknowledge the dedication of our Student Support and Wellbeing teams, who coordinate these meetings, and extend my thanks to the parents and guardians who make the time to attend. Strong partnerships between home and school make a significant difference in helping our students achieve their best.

Looking ahead to Week 5, many of our students will be participating in a range of exciting opportunities, including Snow Camp, Work Experience and modified learning programs at school.

For those undertaking Work Experience, this is an invaluable opportunity to explore career pathways, experience different workplaces and develop important employability skills. Whether students are trying a new industry, returning to a familiar workplace or building connections with potential future employers, these experiences help prepare them for life beyond school. We wish all participating students every success and encourage them to make the most of this unique opportunity.

The Dental Van is Returning!

Following the overwhelming success of last year's visit, we are delighted to welcome the Victorian Mobile Dental Health Van back to Red Cliffs Secondary College during Week 9.

This free service provides students with convenient access to dental check-ups and treatment without needing to leave school, making it an excellent opportunity for families to support their child's oral health. Information regarding consent forms and appointment bookings will be sent home in the coming weeks, and we encourage families to take advantage of this valuable service.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support of our school community. It is through the strong partnership between our students, families and staff that we continue to create a positive, inclusive and successful learning environment. We look forward to another exciting few weeks ahead and celebrating the many achievements of our students throughout the remainder of the term.
