Principal's Report

Dear students, families and carers,

We have reached the final day of term 3 with warm weather and plenty of sunshine to take us into the spring holiday break.  This morning we had our end of term awards assembly. This is one of my favourite events of each term.  I so enjoy seeing which students have earned achievement, wellbeing and attendance awards.

It's been great this term to see many parents and carers at school for Student Support Group meetings, Assemblies, the Book Fair and other events.  A positive partnership between home and school is so important for best outcomes.

As a parent, you know your child better than anyone else does.  When you have a strong and respectful relationship with your child’s school and teachers, you’re in a good position to give them information to help your child get the most out of education. You and your child’s teachers can work together to support your child’s learning and wellbeing.

When everybody is working together in the best interests of your child, your child is likely to reap academic and social benefits, like:

  • regular school attendance
  • positive school results
  • a positive attitude towards school
  • good social and relationship skills
  • a sense of wellbeing
  • school completion
  • progression to post-school pathways

The recent parent/carer/kin survey has highlighted some very positive feelings towards our school from our families.  A few highlights were:

  • General satisfaction                                88% positive endorsement
  • School improvement                               91% positive endorsement
  • Student motivation and support          88% positive endorsement
  • Confidence and resiliency skills          91% positive endorsement
  • Managing bullying                                   91% positive endorsement
  • Promoting positive behaviour              94% positive endorsement
  • School connectedness                          94% positive endorsement

Thank you to all families who completed the survey.

Have a great holiday, see you in term 4.
