Principal's Message

Thank You!

As Term 3 draws to a close, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of our wonderful students, parents and carers for your warm support and encouragement during my time as Acting Assistant Principal. It has been a true privilege to serve our school community in this leadership role over the past term. 

Looking ahead to Term 4, I am excited to resume my position as Instructional Specialist and return to the classroom as a Year 1 Teacher. Thank you once again for your ongoing partnership, I wish all of our families a safe, restful and very happy holiday break!

Welcome Back!

We are delighted to warmly welcome back our Principal, 

Mrs Anna Novak, as she returns to lead our school for Term 4! 

After spending Term 3 at St Christopher's Holsworthy, where she shared her expertise and gained fresh perspective, we are thrilled to have her back in our community. We look forward to hearing all about her experiences and learning about the wonderful insights and ideas she brings back to share with us.

Celebrating our Maths Superstars!

A massive congratulations to all of our incredible students who took on the challenge of the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) earlier this year! We are so proud of every student who stepped up to sit this challenging paper. Our school achieved fantastic results, bringing home Distinction, Credit and Proficiency awards.

First held in 1978, the AMC is Australia’s largest and longest-running mathematics competition for school students. Each year, leading educators create unique, mind-bending problems designed to stretch students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills far beyond the standard curriculum.

Having the grit to tackle such tough questions is a huge achievement in itself. Well done to all of our young mathematicians for giving it their absolute best!

Book in the Box Presentations

Congratulations to all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 for their fantastic "Book in a Box" presentations! The remarkable effort and careful selection of loved books showcased across every year level was truly amazing to see. It was inspiring to watch our students share their favorite stories, characters and creative designs with such enthusiasm and pride. Well done to all students for your dedication and hard work - you did an outstanding job bringing your favorite books to life!

Congratulations NAGLE - 

The Winning House for Term 3!

I am thrilled to announce Nagle House as the winners of the Term 4 PBL Award! They had a fantastic time celebrating their victory on Monday afternoon. 

Nagle House consistently demonstrated positive behavior from the very first day of term. In fact, token totals were at an all-time high across all house groups - a huge thank you to every student for their outstanding effort in upholding our PBL expectations! 

Holiday Inspiration: Rest, Play & Learning

Here are a few ideas for the holidays:

Local Activities:

• Library Holiday Programs: You may like to check local library schedules for free craft workshops, coding clubs and reading challenges.
• Nature Scavenger Hunts: Why not turn a walk in the park into an activity by giving kids a list of items to spot (e.g., a smooth stone, three distinct leaf shapes, bird calls).

Creative Indoor Ideas:

• Kitchen Math & Baking: Simple recipes like muffin making or homemade pizza allow your child to practice measuring, counting and following multi-step instructions.
• Fort Building & Audiobooks: Set up a blanket fort with cushions and audiobooks for quiet, low-energy afternoon downtime.
• Family Game Nights: Board games and card games keep strategic thinking active while building turn-taking and teamwork skills.

Maintaining Learning Momentum:

• 15-Minute Daily Reading: Encourage your child to keep up daily reading habits - graphic novels, magazines, audiobooks and shared family reading all count.
• Holiday Memory Scrapbook: Your child may like to collect ticket stubs, leaves or sketches from outings and write two or three sentences about their favorite part of the week.
• Embrace "Boredom": Unstructured time sparks imagination, independent play and problem-solving.

2026 Staff Development Days (Pupil Free Days)

Each year, Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) provides time for Staff Development Days (SDD), which provides professional learning time for all staff. St Anthony's will provide supervision for ALL Staff Development Days from Monday 20 July, for parents that are in need of care for their child due to work commitments. Parents will need to register.
