DIOCESAN CROSS COUNTRY

The Diocesan Cross Country was held in Barraba on Friday 17th May. 

A team of 43 runners from St Francis Xavier’s attended, making up a total of almost 550 competing students from around the Diocese on the day!!

Well done to everyone who raced and congratulations to the following students who finished in the top thirty for their age group:

8/9 year olds - Josie Wannan, Stella Craig, Pip Gleeson, Jack Lehmann and Harrison Willemse

10 year olds - Bridie Whan and Mac Winston-Smith

11 year olds - Grace Luff and Anna Murphy

12/13 year olds - Harry Tout, Angus Irwin and Walter Read.

Thank you to Mrs Craig for supervising and our parent volunteers who helped on the day. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. 

COAL MINERS CUP

Last Friday, twenty students from Stage 3 attended the 26th annual Coal Miners Cup in Gunnedah. We entered a team into the open boys and one team into the open girls tournament. Each team played four rounds of rugby league throughout the day. Our student's positivity and determination was evident in each game with some impressive run away tries and chase downs being played. 

Well done to everyone who played and congratulations to the open boys team who were undefeated in their pool. 

Thank you to the parent volunteers who coached on the day as well as the spectators who attended for their loud cheers from the sidelines.
