NARRABRI SHOW ART

The Narrabri Show was held earlier this term with each year/stage group entering show art into the Schoolwork Section. We are so proud of our student’s hard work and efforts this year with many artworks being awarded a place. Well done everyone!!

The whole school enjoyed working together, under the guidance of Miss Maddy, to create an artwork to enter into the Indigenous Work section. Our Year 2 students created a class mural of a snake while Year 5 and 6 collaborated across the stage to add their individual touches to their artwork. Students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Stage 2 enjoyed creating individual artworks to enter into the show.

We were also very proud to see the community spirit and the number of St Francis Xavier’s students involved in other show activities not associated with the school. These ranged from the various pavilion sections, ring events and everything in between.

KINDERGARTEN 2025 PARENT INFORMATION MORNING

Last Thursday we held an information morning for families of students looking to commence

Kindergarten next year. Mr Frend hosted the session, together with the Leadership Team, and provided some valuable information to the new and existing families who attended the session. He spoke about the school’s history, our current class structure and resources used in the classrooms by our professional and dedicated staff to assist with providing a Christ-centered inclusive learning community.

Mr Frend also discussed our commitment to academic achievement and the specialist support staff available through the Armidale Catholic Schools Office such as speech therapy and occupational therapy.

Thank you to the Year 6 School Leaders who escorted the families to the classroom as well as the students who modeled our uniform so gracefully.

We look forward to seeing our families again later this term at enrolment interviews.

GRIP LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

On Wednesday 15th May, Mr Frend accompanied our School Captains, Isabela Campbell and Angus Read, and Vice Captains, Ebony Lehmann and Walter Read to the GRIP Leadership Conference in Moree.

The aim of the conference was to build on their knowledge about what makes a good leader and learn new strategies in order to become a great leader. They discussed how to put the “Four Steps for Good Leadership” into action. These steps are:

* Step In (helping when you see a need),

* Step Out (try something new),

* Step Closer (befriend someone) and

* Step Up (using your talents).

PRACTICUM STUDENT - MISS JADE HAMILTON

This term we have had the pleasure of welcoming practicum and past St FX student, Miss Jade Hamilton to 5/6 M.

Miss Hamilton is in her final year of her teaching degree through Charles Darwin University. For the first week of her three week prac, Miss Hamilton observed the classroom and worked with the students in small groups. By week two, Miss Hamilton was in front of the class teaching full lessons and by the conclusion of her placement, Miss Hamilton was teaching full days! It was an honour to have Miss Hamilton at St Francis Xavier’s and wish her all the best.
