Principal's Report
Term 2, Week 7
Dear St FX Parents and Carers,
140 years and Catholic Schools Week
As many of our school community would be aware… we turn 140 years old this year! Our staff and students chose to celebrate this milestone during Catholic Schools Week. This was not only a wonderful gathering and assembly, but it was also a chance to look back through some memorabilia. Thank you to all our families and friends who contributed everything from photos to old school uniforms to original handmade bricks from the original school building.
It was wonderful to enrich my own knowledge of the school and connect with many past students too! I must thank our wonderful staff for their assistance in sifting through the archives and setting up our display. (A special shout out to Mrs Gould for all her help with scanning and categorising).
Looking forward, our birthday celebration has spotlighted many families that have up to four, five and possibly six generations of St Francis Xavier’s enrolments! If this is you we would love to publish a photo with names and acknowledge such wonderful loyalty and tradition in our school newsletter, so please drop in and see Emma at our front office.
Kindergarten 2026 Interviews
This week I am holding interviews for our 2026 Kindergarten cohort. It is always lovely to meet new families and prospective enrolments for our school as well as have the opportunity to talk about the fantastic staff, students and families here at St Francis Xavier's. Once again, we have strong interest in enrollment which is a great reflection on how wonderful our school community is.
Winter Uniform
Now that we have moved into winter, all students should be dressed in full winter uniform. This includes the school tie. Please ensure your child is dressed in full uniform each day, and provide a note from home if your child cannot be in uniform for any reason.
Grandparents Day
Thursday Week 8 is a celebration of our grandparents and special persons day. We invite all our families to attend a special assembly at school and perhaps stick around and watch our High Jump finals!
Semester 1 Student Reports
It is almost that time of year when the semester progress reports will be sent home to parents illustrating student achievement in the classroom. The class teachers have been hard at work completing these reports, and they will be made available to parents via Compass on Friday 27th June. Please ensure you have your parent login details for Compass prior to this date to be able to access your child's report. If you have misplaced these details, please contact the school front office.
