Reflection: St Anne’s Feast Day Mass and Grandparents Mass
St Joachim and St Anne were the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Their feast day is July 26. Each year St Anne’s College celebrates this day as our whole school feast day Mass on a school day close to the date. On Thursday this week we gathered as a community to pray for our Grandparents and those who have guided us along the way and on our educational journey here at St Anne’s College. Many students and staff assisted in our celebration that was led by Fr Ronald. Our Primary Choir, guided by Bec Ryan joyfully led our singing. We are blessed to have such wonderful people in our community.
Our students Zoe, Catherine, Maddison, Chelsea, Willow and Deputy Principal Kate McGrath led us in our special Grandparent prayers of intercession.
For all those who care for us in the capacity of Grandparents we pray;
For the Grandparents of St Anne’s College, students, and staff; may the Holy Spirit assist them in passing on the Faith to their grandchildren as they uphold their families.
For the students, staff and families of St Anne’s College. May God restore us with grace and strength as we remember God makes all things new.
For grandparents and special friends who are raising children or are regular caregivers and babysitters; may your selfless love and commitment be recognised and supported by those around them.
For our family and friends who love and support us like grandparents. May the Lord bless them for their love, patience, generosity and care.
For our deceased grandparents who have given us and our families life and faith, may we remember them in a special way today.
May the Lord hear our Prayers. Amen

St Anne’s College Grandparents Mass
We celebrated our annual St Anne and St Joachim grandparents’ Mass on Thursday July 24. Thank you to Fr Ronald for leading us in this celebration. Our next whole school Mass will be in October as we celebrate the Year 12 students and their Graduation.
Vinnies Charity fundraising and assistance
Thank you for the amazing and generous response and support given to St Vincent de Paul, Shepparton South Conference last term. This was an urgent request for hygiene products as their shelves were almost empty. St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies) is an Australian wide charity, run by volunteers, with offices in most towns and cities in Australia. The local Shepparton St Vincent de Paul conference supports hundreds of families in the local area as well as many individuals. This term we will be considering the needs of those local rough sleepers who Vinnies provide support to in times of need and how we can help our local Vinnies in this space. Our College Captains will be leading this initiative over the next few weeks. We appreciate your generous assistance.
Opening the Doors Foundation Casual Clothes Day
Our FIRE Carriers are running a fundraiser for Opening the Doors Foundation on Thursday 31 July. Opening the Doors Foundation supports First Nations students across Victoria to attend the school of their choice with all necessary supplies. Please support this worthy cause.
Sacramental Program
Information regarding the Term 3 and 4 Sacramental Program for Reconciliation will in future college newsletters and St Mel’s Parish Church notices.
May the Peace of Christ be with you and your families this term.
