See you next term!

Dear parents and carer's,

I find myself saying this every term—but once again, I can’t believe how quickly the weeks have flown by! As usual, it’s been a busy and exciting time at school, with many wonderful things happening across the campus.

This term, a group of Lower Junior students began their Equine Therapy program. While we’ve previously run this as an individualized support, the success of the initiative has led us to expand it to an entire section of the school. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to build confidence, connection, and emotional regulation in a unique and engaging setting.

In other exciting news, the move into our brand-new building has begun.

Last week, we finalised the allocation of groups, and this week we’ve been busy settling students into their new learning spaces. The move has prompted some reshuffling of classes into rooms that have become available as a result. We’re really looking forward to the benefits this redevelopment will bring—not only for the students in the new homerooms, but for all students who will access the purpose-built specialist areas. The integration of the new basketball court with this space is an added bonus and a wonderful asset to the school.

On Wednesday, three of our Lower Junior classes braved the wet weather and headed out on an excursion to the zoo. Despite the rain, our students—decked out in ponchos and raincoats—embraced the adventure and had a fantastic day. Reports from staff were glowing, and I hear a few students even slept all the way home!

We’ve also noticed an increase in student use of deodorant lately—which we wholeheartedly support! We do ask, however, that students bring roll-on deodorant rather than aerosol cans. Your support with this is greatly appreciated.

Looking ahead, the second half of the year promises to be even busier. We are currently planning the official opening of our new building in Term 3 and a special celebration of our school's 50-year anniversary in Term 4. These events will be wonderful opportunities to celebrate our students, staff, and school community.

Wishing you all a safe and restful school holiday break.
