PLASTIC FREE JULY
Countries met for World Environment Day to discuss ways to beat plastic waste which is a world problem. ‘Around 20,000 plastic bottles are bought per second. Less than half of these are collected for recycling.’ Quoted from a book by Jess French called WHAT A WASTE.
Plastic objects break down into small particles called microplastics. These particles litter our oceans and often birds and fish mistake these pieces for food and eat them.
BE A PLASTIC -FREE FAMILY
We can make a conscious effort at school and home to be responsible with our waste.
Challenge for the whole family:
During the week have all the family collect plastic waste. By the end of the week, see which items could be recycled, reused or find plastic -free alternatives to reduce your plastic waste.
