Diocesan Winter Trials Wrap Up!
Last Friday, Indie and Nina (Girls Football), Marcus, Rebee and Shaun (Boys Football), Adelaide, Airlee, Flo and Hannah (Netball), and Claire, Grace F, Jessica, Josie and Katie (Girls Hockey) travelled to Armidale to take part in the Armidale Catholic Schools Winter Trials. This event brought together students from across the region to showcase their skills in football, netball, and hockey, competing for a chance to gain selection to represent our diocese at the Polding Winter Trials.
Our students displayed great determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day. Despite the cool and wet conditions, they put in a fantastic effort, demonstrating their passion for their respective sports. The trials provided an excellent opportunity for them to challenge themselves, learn from others, and enjoy the experience of playing alongside students from other Catholic schools.
We are extremely proud of all our participants for representing our school with enthusiasm and respect. A huge thank you to the teachers, coaches, and parents who supported the students on the day.
A special shout out to Indie and Nina for reaching the probables versus possibles stage in Girls’ Football—a fantastic achievement! Congratulations also to Katie, Grace F, Jessica, and Josie on their selection for the Armidale Catholic Schools Girls’ Hockey team. They will now move on to compete at the Polding Winter Trials in Bathurst on Friday, 2nd May. Well done to all!
Diocesan Cross Country Trials Rescheduled to Wednesday 9th April
Please be advised that the ACS Cross Country Trials scheduled for tomorrow at Barraba have been postponed. This decision has been made due to the wet and dangerous conditions resulting from the recent heavy rainfall.
The trials will now take place on Wednesday, 9th April.
The organisers understand that this postponement may cause inconvenience to many of our families, and they sincerely apologise for any disruption to your schedules. The safety of all competitors is our priority, and they believe this decision is necessary given the current weather conditions.
They appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
POLDING SWIMMING TRIALS
Grace S deserves immense praise for representing our school and Armidale Catholic Schools at the Polding Swimming Trials in Sydney yesterday. In a highly competitive 12 Years Girls 50m Freestyle heat, Grace placed 5th. Although she missed out on selection for the Polding Swimming Squad, her participation among the elite swimmers from the northern half of the state is a significant accomplishment.

St Patrick's Primary Sports Handbook
St Patrick's now has an official sports handbook and it has been updated after the school swimming carnival held recently. This book is designed to give all members associated with our school a clearer understanding of when our school conducts our various sporting carnivals, the processes/qualifying times involved for students who want to represent our school at Diocesan sporting events as well as an explanation of the representative sporting pathways your child may want to undertake in their respective sports.
Attached below is the revised version of this manual, which now contains the latest information on Grace Smith's records at the swimming carnival.
