From the Principal
Welcome Back to Term 3
We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable school holiday break and are ready for a fantastic Term 3. It's been wonderful hearing holiday stories and seeing students reconnect with their friends and teachers over the week.
As we begin another busy term, there are plenty of exciting learning opportunities and special events planned across the school. Students in Years 4, 5 and 6 will head off on camp, while our Foundation students will celebrate the milestone of 100 Days of School. We'll also celebrate Book Week, which will include a whole-school incursion. Students in Years 4–6 will participate in a Cyber Safety incursion to support their understanding of safe and responsible online behaviours. Our Year 3–6 students will take part in the Athletics Trials, while our Grade 3 students enjoyed an excursion to ACMI.
With so much happening, please keep an eye on Compass and the school newsletter for event details, permission information and any reminders throughout the term. We look forward to another fantastic term of learning, growth and memorable experiences.
Congratulations Brent Rafferty. Brent was the successful applicant for the acting assistant principal position for the remainder of the year. The substantive assistant principal position will be advertised later in the year for 2027.
Welcome back Perri who has returned from family leave and Helen B who has returned from leave in Term 2.
Donations
We will be hosting a Colour Walk-a-Thon fundraiser (date tbc) and are seeking support from our wonderful community. As part of the event, we would love to offer prizes to our participants. If you, your family, friends, or any local businesses are able to donate vouchers or prizes, we would greatly appreciate your contribution. No voucher or prize is too small; every donation helps make this event exciting and rewarding for our students!

USA Dance Tour 2026
Over the school holidays, we had several students and their families travel overseas as part of The Studio of Dance USA Dance Tour 2026. Over nine days, the students trained at the world-renowned Millennium Dance Complex, explored the iconic Warner Brothers Studios, participated in an empowering workshop at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, went sightseeing in Los Angeles, performed a flash mob dance at the Griffith Park Observatory, explored the various Californian theme parks with their family and friends, took part in a Disney workshop with inspiring Disney Choreographer, Thomas Schulteis, and performed on stage at the Citadel Outlets, Universal Studios and...Disneyland!

Holiday Works
Over the holiday break, several maintenance and improvement work took place across the school:
Following major plumbing works in the main toilet block, the epoxy flooring was resurfaced.
Minor root works were undertaken on the Jacaranda tree near the Foundation building to address and reduce a potential trip hazard.
Asphalt works were be completed on the back driveway and in the area between the Art Room and the Grade 6 portable.
Oval maintenance was carried out, along with general grounds upkeep to ensure our outdoor spaces remain safe and well presented.
The roof on the portable of 6H & 6BR was replaced.
The outdoor speaker for the assembly area is in progress and will hopefully be completed in the next few weeks.
We are currently obtaining quotes to replace the synthetic turf on the oval. Over the past 14 years, the surface has provided excellent service given the high levels of daily use it receives. However, the turf has now reached the end of its lifespan, with the pile becoming significantly worn, and it is time for it to be replaced.
