Parents Association Newsletter

Welcome back, everyone, to Term 2! It’s hard to believe that a quarter of the school year has already passed.

That said, we’ve been busy planning some fun and exciting activities for the remainder of the year—starting with a School Disco 🕺! We couldn’t decide on a theme, so we’re putting it to the students. They will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite from four options. We can’t wait to see what they choose and will share more details once everything is finalised.

OUR BUDDY BENCH 👬

We’ve been working hard on our fundraising efforts to bring a Buddy Bench to the school yard. We’ve now reached one of the most exciting stages—choosing a colour! As this initiative is all about our students, they will also have the chance to vote for their favourite. We’re really looking forward to the result.

♻️ CONTAINER DEPOSIT SCHEME (CDS)

Our Container Deposit Scheme continues to grow and remains a valuable source of funding for projects like these. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. Students are still encouraged to bring cans or bottles (no glass) to school on Fridays to place in the designated bins. You can also use our code C2000073524 directly at a deposit centre.

🌸 Mother’s Day Events 🌸

On Friday, 8th May, the Parents Association will be hosting a Mother’s Day Breakfast to celebrate and thank all mums and caregivers. Please join us from 8:00am in the gym, bringing your favourite coffee cup (or feel free to use one of ours), for a relaxed morning of coffee, conversation, a sweet treat, and the opportunity to take a special photo.

Our Mother’s Day Stall will also take place on Friday, 8th May. Gift coupons will be available for purchase via Compass (Please find information regarding how to use the Compass Shop on the Special Events Page):

  • 1 gift for $7
  • 2 gifts for $14

Please note that no cash will be accepted.

VOLUNTEERS ⭐

We are always looking for volunteers to assist with events such as the Mother’s Day Breakfast and Stall. If you are able to lend a hand, we would love to hear from you—your support makes a huge difference. One of our biggest limitations when planning events is a lack of volunteers, so any time you can offer is greatly appreciated.

We also encourage anyone interested to consider joining the Parents Association. It’s a wonderful opportunity to have a voice in our school community and support our students. We meet once a month and always welcome new members.

For expressions of interest, please contact:Isabella.Cannistraro@education.vic.gov.au
