For the first time, Australian teaching assistants have a formal Statement of Commitment.
This was created by the Queensland Executive of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders.
As explained by Australian Teacher Aide, this document gives voice to who you are, what you value, and the vital role you play in supporting learning and teaching every day.
"Developed to affirm professional identity, this statement moves beyond the idea of just supporting. It recognises teaching assistants as members of a profession with shared values, responsibilities, and a deep commitment to young people, teachers, and school communities".
