Harmony Day

Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds.

It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. At Westbreen PS, we will be celebrating Harmony Day on Tuesday March 31st, 2026. Students are encouraged to wear traditional cultural clothing, national icon, flag colours or wear something orange, which is the colour of Harmony Week. There will be activities for students on the day to help celebrate the diversity we are so proud of in our school community.

Eid al-Fitr

Many of our families will be celebrating Eid al-Fitr at the end of this week, signifying the end of Ramadan. This is done through prayer, celebrations with loved ones and sharing meals.

First School Council Meeting with new council for 2026

Congratulations to all of our new members of school council for 2026. Last night, we held the elections for our office bearers who are as follows:

School Council President - Alice P

School Council Vice President - Nick McG

Treasurer - Adria Quinn

Secretary - Kristy Monaghan

At the council meeting, we reviewed feedback from parents/carers, teachers and admin staff in regards to our current communication platforms Xuno and Qkr. It has been decided to compare what we are currently using with another popular platform so that we can compare them both, before deciding if we need to change.

Yours in education,

Megan Ganter

Acting Principal
